We have developed a simple but powerful approach for enabling the low carbon enterprise. It is based on our indepth study of the leading innovators among the Global 500 corporations. Our approach helps identify, prioritize and manage the innovations that provide the highest value to business in the emerging low carbon economy.
The framework based on our approach has been highlighted on the cover and published in the September 2009 issue of the Harvard Business Review, the world’s most demanding and prestigious business journal, with acceptance rates below 0.5%. It is the lead article in the issue's special spotlight on sustainability and innovation.

Low Carbon Enterprise (LCE)™, a management initiative of InnovaStrat, Inc., was founded by Dr. Ram Nidumolu as a result of his extensive and groundbreaking research with leading Global 500 firms regarding sustainability, innovation, new business models and the emerging global economy.
The LCE vision is that the low carbon economy is inevitable since the worldwide impacts of climate change must be mitigated. This imperative will require a sea change in thinking about how to conduct business in this new context.
Despite the current financial crisis and great uncertainty, one thing is clear. The enterprises that position themselves now for this new reality will be the ones to prosper in the next year and beyond.
The successful enterprise of the future will be the low carbon enterprise.
Success will depend on having the right business strategy and execution to drive the low carbon enterprise. One core element of this strategy is sustainability. It is no longer just a corporate responsibility toward society and the environment, but a key driver of business innovation.
We have studied leading innovators among the Global 500 enterprises in the past two years and come to one key conclusion: the successful leaders are cultivating new mindsets and models to drive their strategy and execution in this new economy.
The low carbon enterprise will be driven by new mindsets and models related to innovation and growth.
